KHUSHAB: At least six children are missing and four others have been rescued after a boat capsized in the Khushab canal, as reported by a spokesperson from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The Khushab boat incident took place in Tehsil Noorpur Thal, where ten children were thrown into the water when their boat overturned. Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and initiated a search operation, which is still ongoing.

The children, aged between 14 and 16 years old, are all from the suburbs of Paleo Venice village. Among the missing are siblings Samiullah and Azizullah, along with Aftab, Waqas, Asad Ali, and Shoaib Akram.

PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has been in communication with the Deputy Commissioner of Khushab, instructing the district administration to expedite the rescue efforts. Kathia also emphasised that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for allowing children on boats without life jackets.

The search for the missing children continues as rescue teams work tirelessly to locate them.
