KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has issued a notification of winter vacations for schools and colleges across the province.

According to the notification, the winter holidays will take place from December 21 to December 31, 2024.

As per the notification, schools and colleges will only get 11 days of winter vacation.

The decision was made by the Sub-Committee meeting of the Steering Committee on Education yesterday. The meeting was chaired by the Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah.

In a notification, the department said that the decision applies to all public and private educational institutions in the province.

The educational institutions will reopen on January 1, 2025.

The Punjab government on Tuesday announced the 20-day-long winter vacation for public and private educational institutions across the province.

On Monday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department announced winter vacation for both the winter and summer zones for all the public and private educational institutions of the province.

It has announced different holidays for plain and hilly areas.

The Balochistan government on Saturday announced winter holidays for schools and colleges across the province.

According to a notification issued by the Education Department of Balochistan, holidays for schools and other educational institutions in cold areas of the province will commence on December 16.

Winter holidays in Balochistan warm areas, however, will start from January 1, 2025. The educational institutions in warm areas will remain closed only for ten days.
