It has been revealed that 132 veterinary doctors in Sindh have been made permanent without passing the Sindh Public Service Commission examination.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Nisar Khuhro of the Public Accounts Committee of the Sindh Assembly. In the meeting, the audit paragraphs of the Department of Fisheries and Livestock for the year 2018 to 2021 were reviewed.

According to the statement, during the audit, it was revealed that 132 veterinary doctors were made permanent without passing the Sindh Public Service Commission examination. 17 grade veterinary doctors were recruited on a contract basis on an ad-hoc basis.

According to the announcement, DG Audit Sindh has declared the process of permanentising doctors as illegal.

The Public Accounts Committee has directed that the verification of the audit para be done within 10 days from DG Audit Sindh.

In the meeting, the Secretary of Fisheries and Livestock said that veterinary doctors were made permanent with the approval of the competent authority.

Chairman Committee Nisar Khuhro said that the doctors were made permanent under the law, so why was the record not verified by audit? Audit will not settle without verification of records from Audit.
