ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has launched several initiatives with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for the development of the Information Technology sector.

As a part of the initiative, the government has launched an ICT training portal to enhance the IT skills of youth. The plan is to provide practical experience in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity to participants.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT) and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for graduates to benefit from IT companies.

The training programs will include a three-year internship designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

Through this program, young professionals can work directly with IT companies to become experts in the field, which will grow Pakistan’s economy. This agreement will enable graduates to gain hands-on training in advanced technologies and improve their prospects in the job market.

In addition to that, Huawei has joined hands with COMSATS University Islamabad to enhance technical training opportunities toward building a sustainable IT industry in the country.

Huawei has also pledged to support the establishment of modern training programs and centers, including potential expansions to Karachi and beyond.

The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economic growth and technological advancement.

Experts view this partnership-driven approach as a strategic move to position Pakistan as a competitive player in the global IT landscape while creating job opportunities for the nation’s youth.
