Former Federal Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, speaking outside an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi on Monday, criticised the government for selling Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and said, “The leaders should sell their own flats instead of national institutions.”
While talking to the media before his hearing, Sheikh Rashid said that the current Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is heading towards its downfall and has no future.
He also expressed frustration over rising inflation, stating that people are under pressure and ready to react against the government.
Sheikh Rashid challenged the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), saying, “The SBP and FBR should prove that the visits by government officials have resulted in any investment.”
The Awami Muslim League (AML) leader also raised concerns about the government’s property tax policies, saying that increased taxes have stalled development work in housing societies.
He also discussed his health, and said that I am still recovering after a tough 40-day period. He further mentioned that he is currently facing multiple legal challenges, with 14 cases ongoing against him.
