LAHORE: Dense fog continues to blanket most parts of Punjab, leading to several motorways to shut for traffic.
Motorway Police Spokesperson Syed Imran Khan has said that the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway M11 has been closed due to fog.
Motorway M3 has been closed from Faizpur to Samundri due to fog.
Similarly, the motorway (M2) from Lahore to Ko Momin has also been closed for all kinds of traffic until further orders due to reduced visibility due to smog and fog.
Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Samundri and Lahore to Abdul Hakeem has been shut down after low visibility was recorded.
According to the Motorway Police, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Hiran Minar and from Lahore to Jarranwala has been shut down after low visibility was recorded.
Motorway M4 also closed from Faisalabad to Pindi Bhattian for the safety of the public and travellers. The M5 motorway from Multan to Uch Sharif is also closed to traffic.

According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, heavy fog has led to the closure of the following motorway sections:
- M11: Lahore to Sambrial
- M2: Lahore to Kot Momin
- M3: Faizpur to Samundri / Lahore to Abdul Hakeem
- M4: Faisalabad to Pindi Bhattian
- M5: Multan to Uch Sharif
- M11: Lahore to Sialkot
Drivers are urged to take necessary precautions while driving in foggy conditions.
The Motorway Police advised people to avoid traveling unnecessarily and if it was inevitable, prefer traveling during the daytime; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The police said motorists must use their vehicles’ front and back lights while driving and keep a safe distance from other vehicles. He also advised us to avoid sudden lane changes.

The MP asked people to immediately contact its staffers on helpline number 130 in case of an emergency.
The spokesperson says motorways are closed to ensure public safety and safe travel.
