RAWALPINDI: Security Forces killed three terrorists in an Intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
“In the early hours of Friday, Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu District on the reported presence of khwarij,” the Pakistan Army media affairs wing, ISPR, said in a statement.
“Own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij’ location, and as a result, three terrorists were sent to hell while two others got injured,” the statement read.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Khwarji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country,” it further said.
This military operation came days after a gun and suicide attack at a military outpost that left 12 troops martyred.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army, terrorists attacked a combined security check post of the Pakistan Army and FC in Mali Khel area of Bannu district.
Security forces in the ensuing gunfight killed six assailants and “effectively” blocked their attempt to enter the post, said ISPR.
