The Punjab Police has implemented a comprehensive security plan to ensure public safety during the dual celebrations of Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day on December 25 in Pakistan.
According to reports, over 30,000 officers will be deployed throughout Punjab, while more than 5,000 officers would be deployed in Lahore for security on churches and other churches as a strong security measure for smooth festivities.
In addition to that, around 1,000 personnel would conduct activities for the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
High alert across the province has been announced for preventing any security threat.
Inspector General Punjab (IGP) ordered stringent measures at sensitive churches and advised officers to stay alert to all potential threats, especially from anti-state elements.
He also directed the officials to coordinate with the administrations of churches for smooth arrangements. The IG also appealed to the religious leaders to foster interfaith harmony and unity during the celebrations.
