The Islamabad administration on Thursday said that that centres conducting O and A levels examination during high-level Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit will remain open.
O and A Level exams will be held in three centres – E-Eleven, Noor Mahal GT Road, and H-8 – in the capital city, he said, adding that rest of public and private schools will be closed for the SCO summit.
Islamabad District Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz on Thursday said O and A Level exams for October-November will continue per their communicated schedule.
Pakistan is set to host dignitaries of SCO member countries on October 15-16. The Islamic Traffic Police has already shared its traffic plan for the public to avoid any potential disruptions next week.
Earlier, it was reported that, marriage halls, restaurants, and cafes in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be shut down for five days due to heightened security measures for the upcoming summit, However the district administration has refuted such reports.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and India’s Minister for External Affairs S. Jaishankar, among representatives from Iran and Russia, are scheduled to attend the event.
