WEB DESK: Commissioner Karachi has announced a school holiday in all private and public schools of the city on Friday, August 30, due to rain.

The Karachi Commissioner has stated that the decision was made after consultation with the Meteorological Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

Following heavy downpours in Karachi last night, PMD Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz warned on Tuesday that the peak of the current monsoon spell is still to come, with more than 150 millimeters of rain expected to lash the port city.

During a conversation with a private news channel, Sardar Sarfaraz cautioned that Karachi is expected to experience heavy downpours starting tonight, with the rainfall likely to persist for the next three to four days.
