WEBDESK: Saudi Arabia’s famous fast-food brand AlBaik is all set to launch in Pakistan. The preparations are now in the final stages.

The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) on Saturday released a statement “The first AlBaik branches in Pakistan are expected to open soon, creating new job opportunities and strengthening economic ties between the two nations.”

The expansion was confirmed after a meeting between Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and AlBaik’s owner, Rami Abu Ghazala, in Jeddah.

AlBaik signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year with Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd (GO) to explore partnership opportunities for setting up its restaurants in Pakistan.

The first branches are expected to open soon, creating new job opportunities and boosting economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, Minister Jam Kamal Khan was given a tour of AlBaik’s operations, where he met Pakistani workers employed at the company. He appreciated their contributions and welcomed AlBaik’s entry into Pakistan, saying it would help expand the country’s fast-food industry.

Besides discussing AlBaik’s launch, the commerce minister held key meetings with Saudi business leaders to explore investment opportunities in energy, agriculture, IT, healthcare, and infrastructure. He highlighted Pakistan’s 22 per cent export growth to Saudi Arabia, which has reached $700 million, and encouraged Saudi investors to benefit from Pakistan’s business-friendly policies.

Minister Jam Kamal also emphasised the strong financial ties between the two nations, with $7.4 billion in remittances sent from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan last year. He invited Saudi businesses to visit Pakistan’s trade exhibitions, including TEXPO, Food-AG, and the Healthcare & Mineral Show, to explore further collaboration.
