Political Affairs Adviser to PM, Rana Sanaullah, on Wednesday strongly criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan during a press conference.
Rana Sanaullah stated that the behaviour of those associated with Imran Khan and his spokespersons suggests that they are willing to go to any extent. He commented on the alleged leaked video of Aleema Khan, saying that Aleema Khan claims that Imran Khan should not discuss any special privileges in jail as it would impact PTI’s narrative. He further stated that this propaganda is being spread to make people believe that a great injustice has been done to Imran Khan in jail.
He mentioned that there is an internal conflict within PTI, and with such petty fights happening in the party, it is difficult to expect anything positive. He highlighted that Imran Khan’s stance on institutions and the state is already known to everyone.
Talking about PTI’s social media propaganda, he referred to the incident in Nankana Sahib, which PTI’s social media presented as an event from November 24. He added that PTI has portrayed the atrocities in Palestine as events that occurred in D-Chowk. Rana Sanaullah stated that no one has come forward claiming to have been at D-Chowk or suffered any harm, and no one has even filed a report at the police station, even though they could have.
Rana Sanaullah claimed that Pakistan’s economic conditions are improving, and there is hope that the country will emerge as a strong economic nation in the coming days. He accused PTI of wanting to prevent political stability in the country.
Regarding Imran Khan’s release, he said that there is no pressure other than Imran Khan’s own statements. He pointed out that no statement has been made from any source Imran Khan might expect.
Speaking about negotiations between the government and the opposition, he stated that they included all their allies in the negotiation committee and requested that demands be submitted in writing. He mentioned that they had arranged a meeting with Imran Khan, but he complained that the meeting was not conducted properly and asked for the right kind of meeting. He assured me that the meeting would be arranged.
Rana Sanaullah further added that Imran Khan’s statements suggest that he will not submit written demands. Three days ago, Aleema Khan claimed that Imran Khan said he had no behind-the-scenes contacts. He said that if Ali Amin Gandapur is making any claims, he must be doing so on his own. Rana Sanaullah stated that Ali Amin Gandapur has connections everywhere, and no such offer has been made by the government.
