KARACHI: Farhan Gauhar Malik, the owner of Raftar, a popular platform, took to Twitter to share his experience after receiving multiple notices from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle.
According to Farhan the timeline of events began on November 8, when he received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, instructing him to appear before the FIA Cyber Crime office in Gulistan Johar on November 14.
However, on November 12, the Raftar owner received an order from the Sindh High Court that temporarily halted any action by the FIA against him. Despite the court’s order, he attended the inquiry on November 14. Upon his arrival, he was made to wait for three hours before the inquiry officer entered the office. In a brief half-hour conversation, instead of addressing the charges or providing any clarification, the officer allegedly attempted to harass him. After this, he was instructed to return the following Tuesday.
He said that in a surprising turn of events he received another notice on platform X (formerly Twitter) calling him to Islamabad on November 20.
He revealed that two and a half years ago, he had left a high position in television to focus on his project, explaining that he had no interest in positions or relationships. He concluded by requesting prayers from his friends and supporters during this challenging time.
