The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has informed the Lahore High Court (LHC) that temperatures are expected to exceed 50 degrees Celsius in Punjab next week.
During a hearing on petitions related to smog and environmental pollution, a PDMA representative told the court that the province is forecasted to experience severe heatwave during the coming week.
Justice Shahid Karim expressed his concerns after hearing about the impending heatwave in the province. During the hearing, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) was ordered to take measures for the maintenance of all public parks in the provincial capital.

Furthermore, it also directed the authority to formulate a policy for the restoration of parks with the financial support of the local residents.
The Central Business District (CBD) informed the court that two tanks had been constructed to store rainwater. Moreover, Justice Shahid Karim stated that the court will issued an order regarding the extension in market hours in the next hearing.
