The Punjab government has invited bids for its electric bus project amid calls to address environmental concerns across the province, including the provincial capital of Lahore.
The Punjab Transport Company (PTC) intends to run 27 eco-friendly buses in Lahore, the production of which has already being agreed upon by a joint-venture of Pakistan and Chinese firms.
The electric buses will be introduced on five routes, with the pilot phase starting from the Railway Station to Green Town Hamdard Chowk.
PTC has now entered the next stage of the plan by inviting bids from reputable companies registered with relevant tax authorities for the purpose of operation and maintenance of electric buses.
How to bid for Punjab electric bus project?
Interested bids must submit their bids online through the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) portal on or before November 4.
The bids will be opened by the Evaluation Committee in the presence of bidders at 11:30am on the same day.
