LAHORE: In a positive development, the Punjab Education Department has relaxed the school uniform policy to keep the students comfortable and healthy during the harsh winter months.
According to the notification, relaxation in the uniform policy for all public and private schools will remain in effect from December 15, 2024, till February 28, 2025.
The new policy will allow students to wear warm clothing as they see fit to stay warm during cold mornings. They are allowed to wear sweaters, jackets, blazers, coats, caps, socks, and shoes of any colour.
The notification instructed all District Education Officers (DEOs) and heads of public and private schools to ensure strict compliance with the policy. Schools are now directed to instruct students to wear warm clothing so that they are adequately protected from cold weather.
