LAHORE: Punjab government has announced new school timings as schools are set to reopen on January 13 after the winter holidays.
The notification issued by the Department of Special Education stated that special education institutions will open at 9:00am and close at 2:00pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday.
The schools will close at noon on Fridays.
As per notification, institutions, that have been closed since December 20, will resume operations with adjusted school timings. The decision has been taken to accommodate the ongoing cold wave in the province.
The department also relaxed uniform requirements for students in special educational institutions due to the cold weather.
The changes in timings will be effective from Monday (January 13) until February 15, allowing students to wear warmer clothing to cope with the chilly temperatures.
Moreover, all private and public schools in the province are set to reopen on the same date, as the Punjab government has not announced any further extensions to the winter holidays.
