ISLAMABAD: All educational institutions in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree will remain closed today.
According to the district administration, the decision to keep educational institutions closed was taken in light of the political situation at the time.
The decision comes as workers and leaders of PTI continue their march to the city, demanding the release of political prisoners including Imran Khan, and protesting alleged election rigging.
In addition, the papers scheduled for today and tomorrow at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur have been postponed.
According to the spokesperson for Islamia University, the postponed papers will now be held on December 2 and 3.
Classes will be held as usual at Islamia University today and tomorrow.
The Metro bus service in twin cities also remained suspended for a third consecutive day.
In addition, internet and mobile phone services were also affected in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
In this regard, the Ministry of Interior said that it has decided to shut down mobile data and Wi-Fi services in areas with security concerns.
It should be noted that the convoys of the PTI, which left from different cities to demand the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other demands, have entered Punjab.
The convoys are continuing their advance towards Islamabad, and clashes have also occurred with the police at several places.
On the other hand, a heavy contingent of police, Rangers, and FC has been deployed in the federal capital.
All the roads leading to the twin cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been sealed, while trenches, barbed wire, mountains of mud, and other obstacles have been erected at many places.
