ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced disassociation from Fawad Chaudhry Hussain, upon party founder Imran Khan’s directive.

Party Chairman Barrister Gohar said that during his meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, he specifically instructed that an official disassociation from Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.

“In compliance with the chairman’s directives, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf hereby formally declares its complete disassociation from Chaudhry Fawad Hussain. It is explicitly stated that Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has no connection with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Furthermore, he is not authorised to represent PTI in any capacity on media platforms, social media, or TV talk shows, nor to present his opinions as the stance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or formulate narratives on its behalf,” added Gohar.

“Whereas you, Ch. Fawad Hussain, have consistently criticised the PTI leadership, social media, and shown no sympathies for martyrs of May 09 and November 26, and attempted to character assassinate supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf through unwarranted and scurrilous posts on social media, including the platform X through your handle @fawadchaudhry. Needless to add that you are aware of those posts, including the posts against the volunteers of Imran Khan,” read the termination letter.

“And whereas the party had dissociated itself from your conduct and statements and had warned you about the consequences of your conduct. You had already left PTI in 2022, yet you had been consistently asked, inter alia, through press releases issued by the Core Committee of PTI, to desist from posting those objectionable posts in case Imran Khan approved your return to the PTI. That prospect has ended now. And whereas you continued to defy the instructions of the chairman, Gohar Khan, despite repeated warnings to the contrary,” it added.

“Therefore, your basic membership of social media is hereby terminated, and you are expelled from the party with immediate effect. You are further asked never to show any affiliation with PTI and remove PTI affiliation from all your social media accounts and media talks.”
