WEBDESK: The Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association has urged the Sindh Education Minister and the Minister for Universities and Boards to reconsider the 2025 exam schedule for Grade 9, 10, first-year, and second-year students.

The association raised concerns over the decision to hold annual exams on the 15th of Ramadan, stating that it could negatively impact students’ performance and well-being. They emphasised that Ramadan is a sacred month and conducting exams during this period would create unnecessary stress for both students and teachers.

In a joint statement, Association Chairman Anwar Ali Bhatti and General Secretary Muhammad Alam Sher Awan highlighted that exams during Ramadan could be physically and mentally exhausting for students and teachers. Many people, including students, teachers, and government staff, observe religious practices like Itikaf (spiritual retreat), which could affect exam preparation and administration.

They insisted that postponing exams until after Eid would provide a fairer and more comfortable environment for students.

The association has formally requested the Sindh Education Minister and the Minister for Universities and Boards to review the exam schedule immediately and adjust it to accommodate students’ needs. They stressed that academic excellence should not come at the cost of students’ mental and physical well-being.
