ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cloudy weather with rain in several regions of the country.

According to PMD, rain and wind are likely in the Potohar region, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Thunderstorms are also likely at isolated places.

The scattered, light rains are expected to offer some relief by reducing the intensity of smog in parts of the province.

In the federal capital, smog is expected to persist on Monday morning, but the weather will turn partially cloudy later in the day, with strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms anticipated in the evening.

Smog is also likely to affect most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and surrounding areas, especially during the morning hours.

Dense fog is expected to further reduce visibility in the region.

In the evening, scattered rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms are forecast for areas like Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Lahore.

The upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Malakand, Bajaur, Mardan, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Peshawar, and Kohat, will experience cloudy conditions with rain and thunderstorms. Snowfall is also expected in the higher mountainous areas.
