WEB DESK: A petrol shortage is feared in Lahore and the twin cities due to a disrupted petroleum supply caused by road blockages caused by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests.

The Spokesperson of the Oil Tankers Contractors Association has stated that the supply from depots to petrol pumps in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been halted due to blockages on the routes. If this situation continues, there will soon be a shortage of fuel at the petrol pumps.

The President of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association North, Chaudhry Zafarul Haq, also said that petrol pumps in Rawalpindi are running out of stock. The supply of petrol pumps has been halted due to road blockages.

He added that petrol pumps usually have a three- to four-day supply, but the supply to pumps in Rawalpindi has been almost nonexistent for the past three days. He suggested that some hours of the day should be allocated for clearing the routes to restore the supply. “If the supply is not resumed, there could be an issue with fuel for the police and vehicles,” he added.
