PESHAWAR: Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) has announced penalties for violating traffic laws.

According to TransPeshawar, during protests, blocking the BRT route will incur a fine of Rs. 10,000, and shutting down the BRT corridor will also result in a Rs. 10,000 penalty.

Additionally, anyone causing damage to BRT property will have to compensate for the loss.

As per TransPeshawar, traveling on central roads by foot, bicycle, or motorcycle will result in a fine of Rs. 500, while driving large vehicles on the BRT corridor will incur a fine of Rs. 5,000.

Furthermore, TransPeshawar highlights that in case of failure to pay the fine, the offender will be handed over to the police. Therefore, commuters are urged to adhere to BRT regulations to avoid penalties.
