The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has decided to implement comprehensive reforms in Pakistan Television (PTV) by shutting down 25 low-rated programs.
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has initiated comprehensive reforms in Pakistan Television, stating that the decision to shut down 25 low-rated programs has been made reported by Dawn News.
Moreover, the decision to close these 25 programs will be implemented immediately, and new programs will be launched under a new policy aimed at promoting professionalism and constructive criticism.
In addition, the Federal Minister for Information expressed his determination to root out favoritism, incompetence, and fake news from PTV, stating that the purpose of the new policy is to promote professional attitudes and constructive criticism.

He mentioned that concerns regarding the ratings of talk shows will be addressed, and the policy has been modified to encourage constructive criticism.
Furthermore, he added that the goal is to make PTV shows and programs profitable. Attaullah Tarar also noted that the ICC T20 World Cup coverage was successful, resulting in historic profits for PTV.
