ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday reaffirmed Islamabad’s strong commitment to the One-China policy.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan called One-China policy a key principle of Pakistan’s foreign policy, which remains unchanged.
In a statement, the spokesperson stressed that China is Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partner.
The statement came after Indian media and the same social media claimed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended an anti-China event in the United States.
“Responding to media speculations, the spokesperson categorically rejected baseless and unfounded allegations to target Pakistan-China friendship,” the statement said.
He said the partnership is built on mutual trust, shared values, and support on key issues. It reflects a shared commitment to regional and global stability.
The Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also strongly condemned the reports and termed it propaganda.
He said that neither he attended any such “anti-Chinese state” events, nor he would ever accept such invites.
Earlier today, the Chinese Embassy rejected The Guardian’s “false rhetoric” claims in a recent article on Chinese projects under CPEC in Balochistan.
In a statement, the Chinese Embassy said that the report, which claims to quote the diplomat, is false and lacks credibility.
The Chinese Embassy criticized the author’s approach to fabricating information. “The rhetoric and wording imposed is not credible, lacking the basic understanding of China’s position,” the statement read.
The Embassy said that China has consistently supported the development of Gwadar Port and Balochistan.
