Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, delivered a strong message during the Azadi Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul on the eve of the country’s 78th Independence Day.
In his address, General Munir underscored the significance of Pakistan’s existence on the global stage, stating, “Pakistan came into being to stand out among the comity of nations. Pakistan is a fait accompli and it cannot be undone.”
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs, noting that the people of Pakistan “are living as a free nation owing to the martyrs’ sacrifices.”
The general further underscored that the strength of Pakistan’s armed forces is intrinsically linked to the strength of the nation itself.
“To weaken Pakistan’s armed forces is tantamount to weakening the country,” he added.
General Munir also addressed the challenges posed by extremism within the country, affirming that the armed forces would not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs to be in vain.
As the chief guest of the Azadi Parade, the army chief witnessed a display of impressive skills by the cadets of the Pakistan Military Academy. The ceremony also included a special tribute to the martyrs who have laid down their lives for the country.
