WEB DESK: Pakistan was elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
The voting took place in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, in which 182 countries supported Pakistan.
Moreover, Pakistan has been elected as a member for 2025 to 2026, before Pakistan the seat of the Asia Pacific Group was held by Japan.

furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has congratulated Pakistan on being elected as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
The Security Council consists of 15 countries, including 5 permanent members and 10 non-permanent members, the non-permanent members are elected by the General Assembly for a two-year term.
