WEBDESK: Pakistan Railways has introduced a new refund policy for train tickets, according to which passengers who buy tickets from point-of-sale (POS) counters can get a 90 per cent refund if they cancel their ticket 48 hours before the train’s departure.

However, if the cancellation is made between 24 to 48 hours before departure, they will receive an 80 per cent refund, while those who cancel within 24 hours will get 70 per cent of their money back.

For cancellations made within two hours after the train’s departure, a 50 per cent refund will be given. However, passengers are entitled to a full refund if a train is delayed by six hours or more.

The same refund policy applies to tickets purchased through the ‘Raabta‘ app and online booking services.

However, online ticket refunds will only be processed through the same payment method used for booking.

Additionally, once 1 hour and 30 minutes remaining before departure, online tickets cannot be cancelled.

Passengers must bring their original ticket and a copy of their CNIC to the same POS counter where they purchased the ticket to request a refund. After verification, they will receive a cancellation slip and the refunded amount.

For further details, passengers can visit their nearest railway station or check the official Pakistan Railways website.
