ISLAMABAD: Jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, said on Monday that she would prepare to go to jail rather than coming to court again.
Bushra Bibi appeared before a local court in Islamabad for her pre-arrest bail in six cases against her and Imran Khan.
During the proceedings, she became emotional, expressing frustration over what she perceived as injustices within the legal system over the past nine months.
“I will not come to this court anymore; there is only injustice here,” she told the court, overwhelmed.
The court, presided over by the additional sessions judge, heard the arguments and reserved its ruling on her pre-arrest bail plea.
The staff later announced that the court will pronounce its verdict on November 18.
The court will also hear arguments for six bail applications from Imran Khan on the same day. Moreover, the court ordered those arrangements be made to ensure the appearance of former Prime Minister Imran Khan via video link at the next hearing.
“The jail superintendent should take steps to ensure the attendance of the PTI founder through video link,” the court stated.
Bushra Bibi indicated her readiness to face imprisonment, saying, “My blanket and other things are in the car. I am prepared to go to jail whenever you say.”
She further lamented that she and her husband, Imran Khan, had been unjustly punished. “There is no justice; I did not come for justice,” she told the court, starting to weep. “All lawyers, including our own, only waste time.”
