Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub stated on Saturday that the armed forces and intelligence agencies are state employees and called for these institutions to adhere to their constitutional limits.
“Politicians are also bound to do their politics within the constitutional parameters,” the National Assembly opposition leader remarked during a media briefing in Lahore.
In a media briefing today, Ayub announced that the PTI founder plans to approach the court to obtain CCTV footage from the May 9 protests.
The PTI leader emphasized that no deal had been made with anyone. He also noted that Khan had highlighted efforts by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party to create divisions between the nation and the army.
Since the protests on May 9, 2023—triggered by the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan—the PTI has faced significant challenges. The unrest saw mobs attacking state installations, including the Corps Commander House in Lahore.
