ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his recent visit to the United States ICC Champions Trophy preparations.
As per details, the Interior Minister called on Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s house on Thursday.
During the meeting, he briefed the PM on his meetings with top US officials, Congress members, business leaders, and investors during his visit to the US.
He also updated the PM on the internal security situation, the crackdown on human traffickers and the law and order in various regions.
Mohin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, informed the PM about preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC Champions Trophy is set to begin on February 19, 2025.
PM Shehbaz praised the PCB Chairman and his team for outstanding preparation for the mega event. He also commended the progress of development projects in Islamabad.
The interior minister visited the United States on January 20, 2025 and attended President Donald Trump’s oath-taking ceremony in Washington, DC.

During his visit, Naqvi met with US Senators and Congressmen, including Joe Wilson and Rob Bresnahan.They discussed Pakistan-US relations and regional peace, with a focus on Afghanistan. Mohsin Naqvi called President Trump a symbol of hope for global peace and expressed optimism that his leadership could reshape Pakistan-US ties.
