WEBDESK: Murree, the queen of hills, has been experiencing heavy snowfall, attracting a large influx of tourists to the area. The much-awaited first snowfall of the winter season has enhanced the beauty of the region, making it more beautiful.

However, the snowfall has caused significant traffic congestion, with thousands of vehicles getting stuck on the snow-covered roads.

To tackle the situation, the local administration has been actively working on clearing the roads by continuously spreading salt to prevent the accumulation of ice. Despite these efforts, many tourists have faced difficulties as they try to navigate through the snow.

In response to the heavy rush, the Murree Traffic Police have implemented several measures to ensure smoother traffic flow. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree, Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, stated that around 200 traffic wardens have been deployed to manage the increased number of vehicles.

To prevent further congestion, certain roads, including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, and Kuldana Road, have been designated as one-way during the snowfall. In addition, specific areas like the vicinity of Habib Bank, GPO Chowk, Cecil Hotel, Kuldana Road to Bank Road, and Girls Degree College have been marked as parking-free zones.

Murree’s administration has also set up facilitation centers to assist tourists during this peak season. These centers aim to provide necessary support and information to ensure a safer and more comfortable visit.
