MULTAN: Multan’s Air Quality Index (AQI) on Friday between 8am to 9am reached 2,135, crossing hazardous level, according to AQI.
This has made the city one of the most polluted in the region, surpassing even Lahore Smog in air toxicity on Friday.
The situation has become increasingly dire for residents, as the pollution is severely impacting health.
Separately, the Punjab government has taken urgent measures to protect public health. The wearing of masks has been made mandatory, and schools and colleges have been closed temporarily. Furthermore, the government has imposed a ban on heavy traffic entering Lahore and has prohibited open-air barbecues in an effort to reduce the smog.
To stay informed about the air quality in your area, residents are encouraged to check the AQI levels through official platforms, allowing them to better manage outdoor activities during this severe smog crisis.
