ISLAMABAD: Former Supreme Court judge Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, who recently appointed as head of the Missing Persons Commission, has passed away.

Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar was 80 years old and had been ill for some time.

Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar’s funeral will be held in Lahore today.

His funeral prayer will be offered at 4:15 pm after Asr prayers.

Last week, Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar was appointed as the head of the Missing Persons Commission. He was 80 years old. When he was appointed as the head of the Missing Persons Commission, he was undergoing treatment at Services Hospital in Lahore.

The government had announced his appointment during a hearing at the Supreme Court.

During the hearing of the case in the Supreme Court, the Additional Attorney General told the court that the government has appointed Justice (r) Faqir Khokhar as the head of the Missing Persons Commission in place of Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.
