Military court sentences 60 more in May 9 cases

RAWALPINDI: Military courts have sentenced 60 more individuals for their roles in violent attacks on military installations during the May 9 riots, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.

Imran Khan’s nephew, Hassan Niazi, has also been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a military court for his involvement in the attack on Jinnah house.

Details of the sentences for the 60 convicted individuals are as follows:

1. Hassan Khan Niazi, son of Hafeezullah Niazi, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
2. Mian Abad Farooq, son of Amanat Ali, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
3. Raees Ahmed, son of Shafiullah, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
4. Arzam Junaid, son of Junaid Razaq, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
5. Ali Raza, son of Ghulam Mustafa, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
6. Raja Danish, son of Raja Abdul Waheed, involved in the GHQ attack, sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment.
7. Syed Hassan Shah, son of Asif Hussain Shah, involved in the GHQ attack, sentenced to 9 years rigorous imprisonment.
8. Ali Hussain, son of Khalil-ur-Rehman, involved in the AIMH Rawalpindi attack, sentenced to 7 years rigorous imprisonment.
9. Zahid Khan, son of Muhammad Nabi, involved in the Punjab Regiment Center Mardan attack, sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
10. Sohrab Khan, son of Riaz Khan, involved in the Headquarters Dir Scouts Timergara attack, sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment.
11. Brigadier (Retired) Javed Akram, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
12. Khurram Liaquat, son of Liaquat Ali Shahid, involved in the Multan Cantonment checkpoint attack, sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment.
13. Zakir Hussain, son of Shah Faisal, involved in the Chakdarra Fort attack, sentenced to 7 years rigorous imprisonment.
14. Amin Shah, son of Mushtaq Khan, involved in the Bannu Cantonment attack, sentenced to 9 years rigorous imprisonment.
15. Faheem Sajid, son of Muhammad Khan, involved in the PAF Base Mianwali attack, sentenced to 8 years rigorous imprisonment.
16. Hamza Sharif, son of Muhammad Azam, involved in the Faisalabad ISI Office attack, sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
17. Muhammad Arsalan, son of Muhammad Siraj, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 7 years rigorous imprisonment.
18. Muhammad Umair, son of Abdul Sattar, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
19. Nauman Shah, son of Mahmood Ahmed Shah, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment.
20. Ikramullah, son of Khanzada Khan, involved in the Bannu Cantonment attack, sentenced to 9 years rigorous imprisonment.
21. Muhammad Ahmed, son of Muhammad Nazir, involved in the Rahwali Gate Gujranwala attack, sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
22. Pirzada Mian Muhammad Ishaq Bhutta, son of Pirzada Mian Qamaruddin Bhutta, involved in the Multan Cantonment checkpoint attack, sentenced to 3 years rigorous imprisonment.
23. Muhammad Abdullah, son of Kanwar Ashraf Khan, involved in the GHQ attack, sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment.
24. Amjad Ali, son of Manzoor Ahmed, involved in the Faisalabad ISI Office attack, sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
25. Muhammad Raheem, son of Naeem Khan, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment.
