ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Metrological Department has forecast extremely cold and dry weather for most parts of the country ahead of this weakened.

The Met Office predicted that most parts of the northern and western regions of the country are likely to witness extremely cold conditions in the coming days.

Cold and dry weather is expected to persist in the capital, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas in the coming days

A spokesperson of the Met Office said that Murree, Galiyat, and their adjoining areas will experience extremely cold temperatures.

Dense fog and smog are likely to affect various regions, causing visibility issues and potential travel disruptions. Areas expected to experience fog and smog include Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.

Punjab: Various cities of Punjab including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and Lahore likely to experience fog and smog in these days. Similarly, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Multan, Bahawalpur, and other cities will witness fog and smog.

The Met Office stated that these areas will witness smog and fog with a significant chance of disruption of traffics particularly traveling on motorways.

Pothohar region: Morning fog is likely in Rawalpindi and surrounding plain areas.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, DI Khan, and other plain regions.

Sindh: Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, and nearby areas.

Balochistan weather updates

The weather will remain extremely cold and dry across most districts of Balochistan, with temperatures dropping significantly, especially in the higher altitudes.

The Met Department has advised caution for travellers in fog-affected areas, especially during early morning and late-night hours.
