LARKANA: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), speaking to the media on Wednesday, said, “The loss of any political worker or law enforcement official is a loss to the nation.”
The JUI-F leader also raised questions about how Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters were able to reach D-Chowk despite heavy security measures. He said, “There is currently no functioning government in Pakistan, and the situation in Balochistan is also problematic.” He added, “There is a need for serious governance in the country.”
He also criticised PTI’s call for a protest on November 24, stating that the timing of the protest was inappropriate. According to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, elections should be held according to the constitution, and the root cause of the issues lies in the alleged rigging of votes.
Maulana further said that his party has worked on the 26th Constitutional Amendment draft for a month and believes that dialogue and consultation are key to finding solutions. He called for cooperation and communication with his party if others wanted assistance.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also pointed out that the government’s withdrawal from certain points in the 26th Constitutional Amendment should be addressed by passing an act, with signatures from figures like Asif Zardari. Additionally, he raised concerns about objections to the Madrasah Bill, which had been agreed upon.
He criticized PTI for its foreign statements, stating that such remarks damage the party’s reputation and created an impression of foreign interference.
