LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif will officially inaugurate the province’s first-ever “Dhi Rani Program,” aimed at supporting newlywed couples.
The program will start today by attending a mass wedding ceremony in Lahore, where 50 couples will marry in a single event.
The Punjab government has allocated a budget of Rs1 billion for this initiative. In the first phase, 3,000 weddings will be organized. Each couple will receive gifts, including furniture and household items, as well as a cash gift of Rs100,000.
As part of the program, the CM will also introduce the “Dhi Rani Card”. This card will allow newlyweds to claim the cash gift.
