WEB DESK: The world’s youngest Nobel laureate, Malala Yousafzai, will visit Pakistan to attend the two-day international conference on girls’ education in Islamabad as a special guest.
The conference, titled “Girls’ Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities,” will take place on January 11-12th and aims to address the challenges and opportunities in advancing girls’ education across Muslim communities worldwide.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is going to open the conference with a keynote address declaring Pakistan’s commitment to girls’ education and gender equity. The over 150 dignitaries include ministers, ambassadors, scholars, and representatives from UN agencies such as UNESCO, UNICEF, and the World Bank.
All provincial education ministers, chief ministers, and representatives from the Afghan government have been invited, according to Federal Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The ending of the conference is the signing of the Islamabad Declaration, which will testify to the commitment of a society that empowers girls through education.
