LAHORE: Multiple motorways in different parts of the country have been temporarily closed as fog engulfed most cities of the Punjab.
According to the Motorway Police, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Hiran Minar and from Lahore to Jarranwala has been shut down after low visibility was recorded.
Similarly, the motorway (M1) from Peshawar to Rashakai has also been closed for all kinds of traffic until further orders due to reduced visibility due to smog and fog.
The Motorway Police advised people to avoid traveling unnecessarily and if it was inevitable, prefer traveling during the daytime; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The police said motorists must use their vehicles’ front and back lights while driving and keep a reasonable distance from other vehicles.
The MP asked people to immediately contact its staffers on helpline number 130 in case of an emergency.
