On Wednesday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a price hike for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) starting August 2024.
According to the notification, the LPG price will increase by Rs2.72 per kilogram, setting the new rate at Rs236.99 per kg from August 1.
Additionally, the cost of a domestic 11.8kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Rs26.90, bringing the new price to Rs2,796.56, up from Rs2,769.66 in July.

Moreover, the government is expected to announce new petroleum product prices today, with predictions suggesting a reduction in petrol and diesel prices to Rs8.50 per litre.
In addition, early reports suggest that petrol prices may fall during the first half of August 2024. Government officials have yet to confirm these updates, with the final announcement pending today’s meeting.
Furthermore, it is anticipated that petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices could decrease by approximately Rs3 and Rs8.50 per litre, respectively, due to a decline in international prices and lower import premiums.
