A woman in Lahore shot her close friend over allegations of sending text messages to her husband, local police reported on Friday.
As per media reports, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Lytton Road Police Station, where the suspect allegedly fired inside a vehicle, gravely wounding her friend.
According to the police, the suspect had invited the victim into her car, where a conversation quickly escalated into violence. In a moment of anger, the woman shot her friend in the abdomen. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

Authorities were alerted soon after the attack and swiftly arrested the suspect. The police have recorded the victim’s statement, confirming that the shooting was triggered by a confrontation over the alleged text messages exchanged with the suspect’s husband. Officials from the Lytton Road Police Station confirmed that the suspect is in custody and has been charged with attempted murder. They also stated that more information would be shared as the inquiry progresses. Meanwhile, the victim’s family has called for swift justice, expressing shock and anger over what they describe as a grave act of betrayal.
