PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has announced a Ramazan cash package for poor and needy people of the province.

Chief Minister said that the provincial government has decided to provide Rs.10 thousand cash assistance to five thousand families in each and every provincial constituency as a Ramazan package.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 38 districts. So, the Ramazan package will benefit 190,000 families who will receive Rs 10,000 each in cash for the holy month.

The decision has been taken in a provincial cabinet meeting held on Friday.

During the meeting, the cabinet approved the revised PC-1/DCEs for the “Up-gradation of IRNUM PET-CT/Cyclotron Project,” the extension of the ‘D-Talk and Insulin for Life’ project with a $5 million foreign grant, and a proposal to convert the Provincial Government MI-17 Helicopter into an air ambulance.

The Aviation Wing was directed to modify the helicopter to meet ambulance requirements and operate it through Rescue 1122.

The cabinet also exempted Humanitarian Cargo (International Shipments) by the World Food Program through Torkham in Transit Trade with Afghanistan, reducing the Infrastructure Development Cess for Transit Trade to 1% of the value of goods imported into the province.

Other approvals included the creation of a Provincial Police Station for the Special Investigation Wing Anti-Corruption Establishment KP, the extension of the Female Technocrat member for the Local Government Commission, and the creation of posts in the Sports Department for Finance Manager (BPS-16) and Coach (BPS-16). The cabinet also amended the KP promotion policy of 2009.

Last year, the KP government had distributed 9 billion among 900,000 families across the province. Each family had provided Rs 10,000 each in cash during the holy month.
