Qamar stated that earlier this month, a woman invited him to her home under the pretense of discussing a new drama project. Once there, armed men assaulted him and demanded a ransom for his release. He was allowed to leave only after paying a substantial amount.

He alleged that the perpetrators, after enticing him to their location, filmed compromising videos of him and made them public when he did not comply with their extortion demands.

FIA Cyber Crime Cell officials have acknowledged Qamar’s complaint and stated that an investigation will begin soon.
