In a recent ruling, the Karachi Family Court has permanently placed minor Dua Zehra in her parents’ custody until she reaches adulthood.

The court decision came after a hearing of a petition filed by Zahra’s husband, Zaheer Ahmed.

The court emphasissed the child’s welfare, requiring her parents to post a bond of Rs200,000  and to ensure her well-being, education, and necessities.

Ahmed failed to prove any mistreatment of Zahra by her parents, who have been acknowledged for their efforts to keep her safe.
