Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman declared nationwide protests set for Sunday, September 29, against skyrocketing electricity bills.
The demonstrations will take place across all district headquarters, with a referendum on whether to continue paying the inflated bills.

Rehman emphasised that these protests are part of the “Haq Do Awami Tehreek,” a movement aimed at securing relief and rights for the people.
Furthermore, he criticised the government’s approach, claiming the public is being burdened by high payments to Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
