ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Thursday approved the nomination of 12 additional Sindh High Court (SHC) judges, the press release from the Supreme Court said.

The meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi in the Conference Room of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad, it added.

In the meeting, the following are nominated for appointment as Additional Judges, by the majority of its total membership;

1. Tasneem Sultana, DSJ
2. Khalid Hussain Shahani, DSJ
3. Miran Muhammad Shah, Advocate Supreme Court
4. Abdul Hamid Bhurgri, Advocate Supreme Court
5. Ali Haider Ada, Advocate
6. Jan Ali Junejo, Advocate Supreme Court
7. Muhammad Hasan (Akber), Advocate General Sindh
8. Muhammad Jaffer Raza, Advocate Supreme Court
9.  Muhammad Osman Ali Hadi, Advocate Supreme Court
10. Nisar Ahmed Bhanbhro, Advocate Supreme Court
11. Riazat Ali Sahar, Advocate Supreme Court
12. Syed Fiaz ul Hassan Shah, Advocate Supreme Court

Furthermore, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan by a majority also extended the term of Judges of the Constitutional Benches of the Sindh High Court for a period of six months.

Earlier this month, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of three additional judges in the Balochistan High Court (BHC) and two in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a gazette notification regarding the appointment of additional judges on Saturday. 

As per the notification, Advocate General Balochistan Muhammad Asif, Advocate Muhammad Ayub Khan, and Additional Attorney General Najmuddin Mengal have been appointed as judges in the Balochistan High Court for a period of one year.

District Sessions Judge Azam Khan and Advocate Raja Inam Amin Minhas have been appointed to the Islamabad High Court.
