ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested the accused involved in snatching the mobile phone of a foreign citizen on Trail 5 within a few hours.
According to the DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, the police took timely action on the incident and used modern technology to arrest the culprit.
Following the snatching, the accused hid the pistol and mobile phone in a forest near Faizabad.
The police recovered the hidden mobile phone and pistol while conducting a search operation in the forest and arrested the accused, DIG said in a video statement.
DIG Syed Ali Raza said that the police are always ready to protect the lives and property of the citizens. “We will continue to work day and night to make the federal capital a cradle of peace.”
In another incident earlier this week, a German diplomat was found dead with his eyes, nose, and mouth bleeding in the federal capital’s Diplomatic Enclave.
The deceased diplomat was identified as the second secretary at the embassy of Germany, Thomas Jurgen, 58.
Police said the foreign diplomat was found dead at his residence located in Karakoram Heights.
The embassy officials told police that the diplomat was absent on Monday and he didn’t respond to any of the call. In response, the embassy sent an employee to the residence of the diplomat.
After not getting a response from inside the house, embassy officials broke into the flat and found him dead. The embassy then informed the police and officials from the Secretariat police station reached the flat and shifted the body to the hospital.
