LAHORE: In a troubling incident at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore, a male infant was reportedly exchanged with the body of a deceased baby girl, prompting the parents to seek police intervention against the hospital staff.
According to an official, a four-day-old baby boy was brought to the hospital by his parents for treatment. Unfortunately, the baby succumbed to complications, and the doctors informed the parents of his death, handing over the body to his father, Irfan. The family then transported the body to their hometown of Gujranwala for burial.
However, the situation took a shocking turn when Irfan returned to the hospital with the body of a baby girl, asserting that he had brought his son for treatment, not a girl. This revelation stunned the hospital authorities, who immediately launched an investigation. It was later revealed that the baby boy had gone missing.

Irfan filed a complaint with the Naseerabad police station, accusing the hospital of replacing his son’s body with that of the deceased girl. He urged the police to take legal action against the hospital’s management and the doctors involved, demanding the recovery of his son.
In response, the Punjab Health Department has taken notice of the incident and formed an inquiry committee consisting of three senior doctors from the Children’s Hospital. The committee has been tasked with investigating the matter promptly and providing a report to the public.
