WEB DESK: New Delhi has granted visas to only 100 Pakistani pilgrims for the annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer Sharif, less than the granted quota of 500 pilgrims, thus disappointing 400 applicants. A spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed this.
A big religious festival marking the Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti will occur in Ajmer, India. On January 5th, 100 pilgrims from Pakistan who had been cleared for participation in the religious convocation of Dargah-e-Ajmer Sharif reached via Wagah border crossing.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs also voiced regret on the situation yet assured that such efforts would still let Pakistani pilgrims participate in such events. A wave of disappointment among the devotees, ambitious of pilgrimages to one of the most repute Sufi shrines of South Asia, has taken hold of all corners after this cut in issuance.
